Uncover the Secret to Nick’s Seafood Success

Nicks Bar and Grill Darling Harbour

This October, Nick’s Seafood Restaurant marks 20 years of operation! Serving many thousands of diners for lunch and dinner for almost 7,300 days straight. That’s right, Nick’s has never closed for even a day over 20 years.

The Past

The essence behind Nick creating his restaurants stems from his love of seafood and his long history in the seafood wholesale business, Manettas Limited.

Nick started working with his father, Peter Manettas, selling seafood in the old Fishmarket at the age of 17.

Supplying seafood to some of the largest hotels, airlines and restaurants nationally, the business went from strength to strength. After working with his father tirelessly for many years, their humble family run business became a public company.

With this background came a knowledge and love for seafood that Nick was able to incorporate while bringing his vision to life: serving quality market fresh seafood from across Australia.

For 20 years Nick has personally inspected and handpicked the best product, daily. Nick is in constant contact with suppliers from all over Australia and he has never compromised on quality. Nick’s demands and delivers nothing but the best!

The Present

Not much has changed from the old Fishmarket days, with Nick’s showcasing some of New South Wales best local lobsters caught off the coast of Botany Bay and delivered direct to the restaurant by the fishers themselves. It is not uncommon to see two to three hundred kilograms of live local lobsters appearing at Nick’s in the early hours of the morning with Nick there not only to greet the fishers, but to shout them a bacon and egg roll and a coffee after their morning at sea.

This commitment to freshness, quality and flavour is what Nick’s customers have come to expect time and time again. This is a reason Nick’s has become a household name and Sydney institution.

To thank his customers Nick’s will mark the occasion by promoting 20% off a la carte dining from 15 – 19 October for bookings made at all 6 Nick’s venues in King Street Wharf and Cockle Bay Wharf.

Nick’s customers can also enter a competition to win a return trip to Greece + $1000 spending money simply by dining during the month of October. Click here for more information.
